Solid Ground

 I just wanted to thank you, and Sue especially, for delivering the bags to Solid Ground last month for our Family Shelter program!  We have already given out some of the new bags, and the kids were so excited to get something that was just for them!  We take families with children who are currently homeless and provide them with an apartment of their own and case management services for up to 3 months while we help them find stable housing.  Homelessness is a traumatic experience for children, and being able to give them a bag with items like a stuffed toy and pajamas is reassuring, letting them know they are loved and cared about.

West Seattle Family Connections Center

 Lori, I just want to let you know how much we appreciate you and Sue for providing us with the “Survive the Night” overnight bags for children coming into the Center to await placement.  Usually, these children arrive with just the clothes on their backs.  You should see how their little faces light up when we give them their own little bag with the pajamas, underclothes, toiletries and a toy!  Often enough, the children don’t make it out of the Center before they want to use their new toothbrush and try on their pajamas!  That bag becomes their security blanket, in a sense!  Your organization has made many children very happy!  Thanks again!

 On behalf of Children’s Administration, thank you so much for the Survive the Night bags.  It couldn’t have come a moment too soon.  Within an hour after Sue left our sight from dropping off the bags, there was a need.  We had a young child come into placement today, somewhat sad due to the prior events that resulted in him being where he is now.  He needed clothes and toiletries to take to his new placement.  Wow!  You should have seen the way his eyes lit up when he received his “Spider man” pajamas.  Although he received other clothing and toiletries, he wanted to go right then and put on his pajamas.  He later made the statement of how “fun” it was to be here and that he wanted to “stay here”.  My heart truly went out to him.  Nothing could beat the look in his eyes when he received the survive the night bag and nothing could replace the feeling in my heart when giving it to him.  Your organization is awesome!!!  To take such an interest in our children.  You have touched so many, many lives!  Thank you!

Vision House 

On behalf of the families living at Vision House we want to say THANK YOU!  Families usually come to use with very little, and having items such as pajamas, toothpaste, a stuffed animal is a wonderful blessing.  Your gifts help Vision House families as they rebuild their lives from homelessness and abuse, to independence and self sufficiency.  Survive the Night is making a difference in the community, thank you for partnering with Vision House to change lives!

New Beginnings

New Beginnings is a non profit organization whose mission is to provide shelter, advocacy, and support for battered women and their children. Our organization strives to meet the in-kind donation needs of our participants to our best abilities. We are very thankful to Survive the Night for their generous donations. These donations will go directly to the children and families we serve throughout our Shelter, Transitional Housing and Community Advocacy Programs. We look forward to working together in the future!

Pathways for Women

Sacred Heart Shelter

Sue dropped off some bags to Sacred Heart Shelter on Friday and I just thought I would pass along some thanks.  I would just say that part of what we do at the shelter is help people meet very basic needs such as food and shelter. Many people move in with very little and it is nice to be able to give a child a bag of their filled with things they will be able to use and something they can hold on to.

Multicultural Family Services

On behalf of Multicultural Family Services we want to thank you for your time and efforts that were put into the bags. We all love them here and we are sure that the children will also.
